About Drayton Parslow Karate

The Drayton Parslow club has been established for more than 7 years originally founded by Sensei Jacqui Armitt, 1st dan black belt. Sensei Michael Lines took over at the beginning of 2009 and the club is beginning to expand.

About the instructor

In 2002 Michael Lines began training in Milton Keynes and attained his 1st Dan Black belt in December 2007. Michael reached 2nd Dan black belt with a grade of B+ on 1st August 2010.

Michael competes frequently and has had quite a bit of success. A selection of competition results include:
1st place - ECKA Nationals (Light Continuous) 2011
1st place - ECKA Milton Keynes Open 2010
2nd place - ECKA Nationals (Light Continuous) 2010
2nd place - ISKA British Open 2008
3rd place - WAKO Welsh Open (Light Continuous) 2008
2nd place - WAKO Welsh Open (Light Continuous) 2007
3rd place - ECKA Nationals (Light Continuous) 2006

In December 2009 Michael competed in his first full contact bout in Birmingham. Sensei Michael earnt a hard fought draw in the ECKA Full Contact title fights in May 2011.

Michael won the ECKA Light continuous national title in November 2011.

Michael has been training under his instructor Sensei Mark Featherstone since 2002 and has also trained with other notable instructors; Sensei Dev Barrett, Sensei Red Walcott, Kancho Henk Kuipers, Remy Bonjasky, Semmy Schilt and Mark Watton.

He has full instructors imdemnity insurance and is first aid trained.

He is an EKF Qualified Instructor (Level 3 Club Coach).

Michael has an NCFE Level 1 certificate in exercise studies and an NCFE Level 2 certificate in nutrition and health.

He has also received a current Enhanced CRB check.
